Soccer Analytics
In the summer semester 2025, the module “Soccer Analytics” will take place for the first time at the Department of Sport and Technology / Human Movement Science under the responsibility of Prof. K. Witte. It is a collaboration with the 1st FCM and ETH Zurich (Prof. U. Brandes). The aim of this course is to accompany the 1st FCM scientifically by analyzing the player data and also to provide practical support in sports. The basics are taught in lectures. The students can then carry out the player analysis themselves in small groups under supervision.
All students of the following degree programs are invited to attend:
- Bachelor's degree programs: “Sports Technologies”, “Sports Science” and “Computer Science” and
- Master's degree programs: “Performance Analysis”(IMPAS), “Biomechanical Engineering” and “Computer Science”. of the respective degree program are awarded up to 5 CP for this elective module in accordance with the study and examination regulations.
Time:
Weekly: Wednesdays 3 - 5 p.m.
Block event: 23. 04. 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
24. 04. 09 a.m. - 5 p.m.
25. 04. 09 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The courses will probably be held in English.

Neues Digi Sports Lab an der OvGU – Jetzt durchstarten!
Die Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg freut sich, das Digi Sports Lab vorzustellen – eine innovative Forschungs- und Entwicklungsplattform für digitale Technologien in Sport, Bewegung und Gesundheit.
Dank der Förderung durch die Europäische Union bietet das Digi Sports Lab modernste Infrastruktur zur Entwicklung und Erprobung neuer Technologien. Studierende, Wissenschaftlerinnen und Gründerinnen haben hier die Möglichkeit, kostenlos innovative Lösungen für Prävention, Diagnostik, Monitoring und Intervention zu entwickeln.

Mehr Leistung durch Technik
Im Rahmen eines vom Bundesinstitut für Sportwissenschaft (BISp) geförderten Projekts wurde am Lehrstuhl für Sport und Technik/Bewegungswissenschaft in Zusammenarbeit mit der Enode GmbH ein innovatives Sportgerät entwickelt. Diese sogenannte "Sensorkugel" ermöglicht die Echtzeit-Analyse von Leistungsparametern beim Kugelstoßen. Summer-School 2023 in Magdeburg
Physical Education in different countries: curricula comparison, health and digital possibilities at schools
The Summer School in Magdeburg will work on important content in Physical Education in the week from the 19th to the 23rd of June. The student groups from Poland, Belgium, Spain and Germany will research in the areas of “Health at School” (Health Programmes and Health Literacy), “Digital Physical Education” and the “Comparison of School and University Curricula”. We are looking forward to the results and invite you as teachers, students or just interested persons to the Final Session at the 22nd of June from 4pm to 6pm at the Senatssaal of the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg.
