  • Hannes Loerwald: Untersuchung der Reaktionsfähigkeit auf periphere visuelle Reize in der virtuellen Realität (Masterarbeit) [Investigation of the ability to react to peripheral visual stimuli in virtual reality] (Master's thesis)

 

On April 8th and 9th, 2024, our research group hosted the VR Symposium "VR in Sports Science". The symposium began with a workshop demonstrating the efficient modeling and programming of virtual environments using Blender and Unity. The following day featured various exciting presentations on the intersection of sports and VR by researchers from the Netherlands, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. David Mann (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) on the topic of "Hitting in Virtual Reality: a 'Home-Run' for the Representative Study of Interception". The symposium concluded with a laboratory tour and a small practical demonstration. Here are some impressions from the symposium:

From 27-29.09.23 the conference of the "dvs-Sektion Biomechanik" took place in Magdeburg. In the context of this conference, this working group organized a workshop concerning the basics of virtual reality usage in sports. Here are some impressions:
